October 2005 How are our MiGs doing in Poland?
Now more than a year is gone since we flew our jets to Poland. A polish artist even painted a picture of this event! But what happened meanwhile with our jets? Right now 4 MiG-29 are in Malbork with 41 ELT
MiG-29G
4111 (29+04) All 4 MiGs were brought to Poland on 04.08.2004 and had flying hours left, so they did not need immediate works. They got a new paint job and some minor changes to the cockpit. The right panel has some newer controls for TACAN and IFF. On the right fin the ILS antenna is remounted again. The English writing and the ICAO measures were retained. Besides TACAN, RSBN and VOR the PRMG and ILS are usable for approaches. The pilots at Malborg call the MiG-29G and MiG-29GT to differentiate them from the MiG-29A und MiG-29UB of 1 ELT at Minsk-Mazowiecki near Warsaw. Thanks to Sadzu and Mr. Rajkowski for the Info and pictures! |
