Fulcrum C: MiG-29SM

  (9-13M, Exportangebot)

While the SE is optimized for air to air tasks and can only use unguided weapons against ground targets, the MiG 29 SM is optimized in addition for ground attack and can use the infrared controlled Kh 29 t and TV controlled KAB 500 Kr bombs. In addition, it can use laser weapons against ground targets. Later, the Kh 31 Anti ship and Kh 31 P Anti radar missile as well as a "ground mapping" mode for the radar could be integrated. It was first introduced in June 1995 in Le Bourget as No.331. There is little known about production of this sub-variant, but it was offered as air to air fighter as well as a multi role fighter for export.
